Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

CBT stands for cognitive behavioural therapy. The theory is that our thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all connected. It is a talking therapy where you can explore your perceptions in depth without any judgement. Therapy is a safe space for you to be vulnerable and honest, without fear of scrutiny.

During difficult times in our lives our thoughts, feelings and behaviours can change. Together, we can explore your patterns, and set some goals for what your preferred future is and how we will get there.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

DBT has similar principles as CBT, however is designed for individuals that struggle with intense emotional responses that may engage in risk-taking behaviours. DBT helps you to understand, name and identify your feelings, as well as providing suitable strategies for managing these in your life.

Solutions Focused Therapy

Solutions focused therapy can be a short-term approach where the focus is on solving issues and problems, rather than the problems themselves. By understanding problem solving, and being asked provoking questions to help you reflect and understand your predicament, SFT provides a space for you to have a positive approach to change.

Something to note...

It is important to be honest about any diagnosed disorder you have to ensure that the therapy is appropriate.

Depending on your lived experience, sessions may involve confronting your emotions and anxieties. You may experience periods where you feel emotional discomfort.
