My name is Kirsten McCully, and I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (PG Dip CBT & Groupwork). I am trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural), SFT (Solutions Focused), and Person Centred modalities. I work with adults over the age of 18.

Welcome to the home page for my wee business, born out of love for what I do!

For me, therapy should be wholly focused on you and your needs. My mission with this business is to provide a space where you truly feel safe, and to explore how you can make enduring change in your life. I offer flexibility both in scheduling and with the application of techniques to provide a bespoke therapeutic experience.

I have been described as warm, calming, and supportive. I The relationship between you and I is what is most important - I might have the qualifications, but you are the expert on you!

My journey towards this career started over a decade ago, studying Psychology as part of my Social Sciences degree. I went on to complete the HNC COSCA Counselling Skills course at the University of Aberdeen, and most recently my Postgraduate Diploma in CBT and Groupwork with ACT Counselling Services. I have volunteered with Samaritans and Rape Crisis in Aberdeen, as well as student placements with Lanarkshire Association of Mental Health and the Violence Reduction Unit (Police Scotland). I worked as a Mental Health Support Worker and within a Crisis service for adults who have complex and enduring mental health issues whilst studying, and have years of experience working with many different disorders.

I am a member of the BABCP and adhere to their code of ethics and principles. I attend regular supervision which allows me to reflect on my practice, as well as attending CPD (Continuous Professional Development) events to ensure my knowledge and skills are relevant and current. I am fully insured to conduct work as a qualified therapist.

When I am not thriving as a therapist, I am kept busy with my family and getting out in nature. I love going for road trips and big walks out in our stunning countryside.

I love creative writing and have self-published two books - a bucket list dream of mine!

My love for food has no bounds. I enjoy cooking, experimenting with flavours, and trying new restaurants and exploring different cultures where possible.
